Wedding Stuff

Writer's picture: Sara ScottSara Scott

I am a self diagnosed crafter...

I grew up with a crafty mom and aunt who were always working on projects; we made paper angels, candy cane reindeer, mom crocheted and sewed, and I took a liking to scrapbooking in high school. So it was no wonder that I would incorporate my love for handmade items in our wedding.

I absolutely love our rings. Mine is Rose Gold, White Topaz, and Diamonds (email me for purchase details), and Toms was Black Rhodium. I really love the ring we picked for Tom, he works with his hands and is a tough guy, I didn't want to get him something run of the mill or something that would get damaged easily. This ring is perfect for him, its been a year and it looks great.

The Proposal

In the whirlwind that was our engagement I somehow managed to pull off a few proposals of my own. My sweet girls who have been by my side through the struggles of life all got a necklace with their initial as well as a tearful slobbery proposal to be in my bridal party.

I picked the lavender color in keeping with the wedding colors.

The Prints

For our wedding I wanted to add personality on the cheap. I printed a lot of the decor, weather it was a framed art or a personalized crafty item, I love the character it added to our special day.

Our family has a few little ones so I wanted to include some toddler distraction during the slower moments on a wedding day.

Love these twine wrapped Turkey Feather pens.

We decided to ask for a honeymoon fund rather than gifts. I love this $$$ box I found on Etsy. We are using in now to save up for our next vacation.

I love this frame! I found most of my frames at Walmart on the cheap.

Our Wishing Tree. This hand carved Manzanita Tree was one of my first purchases.

My sweet in-laws. Love them

Pretty Little Things

Planning a wedding can get pretty crazy. I still remember getting in a huff over the color of the flowers (that were wrong on the day of the wedding... but still beautiful), all the details can seem overwhelming. I started gathering items and decor early on in wedding planning. The challenging part was keeping track of my purchases and staying organized.

Bracelet I got for my girls in their gift bags

Goodie bags for Groomsmen

Bride Tribe chapstick for the goodie bags

Hair ties are inexpensive and were a fun way to continue the theme

My sweet Mama made this Boho topper for our Tee Pee

Everyone got a pair of sunnies

My girls all got different earrings. I love the Purple Creek Shop. They donate their proceeds to protect wildlife
